What is SVDP?

SVDP is Saint Vincent DePaul, a charitable organization founded in Paris. The organization was started in 1833 to serve the poorest of the poor.  Sounds like a cliché doesn't it?  Actually SVDP is an international organization, at work in parishes, schools and workplaces around the world.  Locally, as you look at communities throughout the South Bay, you'll find SVDP at work with families in need of financial and spiritual help.  Even in Sunnyvale, where we often feel protected from the hardships seen elsewhere, SVDP is trying to lend a hand to folks in times of need.

THE RESURRECTION PARISH CONFERENCE IN SUNNYVALE

Why is SVDP a parish organization?

Our parish SVDP conference is at work here in Sunnyvale, trying to address issues affecting our neighbors.  We're strictly a volunteer group, but we team up with other local service agencies that we believe are the most effective.  That's why we work with Sunnyvale Community Services, Catholic Charities, the Emergency Housing Consortium, and neighboring parishes on programs and issues vital to our community.

Resurrection parish generously supports the work of SVDP through your volunteer efforts, material donations and financial contributions.  For more information about our parish conference and other community volunteer opportunities:
