It's been over a year since Nick was
diagnosed with his second round of cancer. As a result, Nick
wasn't able to participate
in the 2003 Walk-a-Fun, and was disappointed. A year later he walked at Resurrection's Walk-A-Fun on April
2nd, 2004 His personal goal was to walk 15 laps, and he made it to 25! Not only
did he challenged himself, but he and his family also put out a challenge to
those in the Bay Area to pledge their support of his effort to raise funds
for cancer research. For
every dollar Nick brought in and continues to do so, 75% will benefit the National Children's
Cancer Foundation to support research of Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer, and 25%
to benefit Resurrection School! Not only that, but every dollar
donated will be matched by his aunt and uncle! As
of April 4th, Nick has raised a total of $135,000!
Nick has requested that the amount raised for
Resurrection go towards the bathroom renovation project so that all
students will reap the benefits of this gift! Thank you Mendez
